If you’ve ever wanted to visit two of the nations best national parks, I invite you to come join me for an amazing week in The Grand Teton’s and Yellowstone National Park! This adventure will be full of beautiful towering mountains, waterfalls, diverse wildlife, colorful geysers, thermal pools and so much more! This workshop will begin in Jackson, Wyoming where we will spend 3.5 days exploring the wonderful Grand Teton National Park. Halfway through our tour, we will take a short two hour drive through beautiful landscapes as we transfer to Yellowstone National Park for an additional 3.5 days of exploring. This workshop will be filled with landscape and wildlife photography. We will also take some time to work on post-processing and critique sessions. If you’re feeling up for exploring two amazing parks and taking in some breathtaking scenery, this is the workshop for you!


What You Will Learn:

  • How to create compelling landscape and wildlife compositions.

  • How to use your camera to its fullest capabilities.

  • How to utilize a variety of lenses to think “outside the box.”

  • An understanding for light and how to take advantage of it in all conditions.

  • How to utilize editing techniques within Lightroom and Photoshop.

  • An introduction to black and white photography.

  • How to utilize various filters.

  • How to pick your jaw up off the floor.

What You Will Need:

  • A DSLR or mirrorless camera body and an assortment of lenses. A wide angle and telephoto (200mm - 500mm range ) is highly recommended.

  • A sturdy tripod.

  • A headlamp or flashlight.

  • At least the trial version of Lightroom or Photoshop on your laptop.

  • Multiple batteries.

  • A desire to learn, have fun, be flexible, and explore nature!

  • A 10 or 6 stop neutral density filter for your wide angle is recommended, but not required. Also, a circular polarizer is recommended, but not required.

  • Transportation to our host hotel and to Yellowstone National Park.
    (You will need a rental car.)

Physical Requirements:

Most locations will only require a short walk (less than 1/4 mile) but there will be one longer trek being approximately half-of-a-mile round trip on a paved path and 600’ of elevation gain. Snowy & icy conditions could be a possibility if winter weather is prevalent.


Where To Fly Into:

Getting to Grand Teton National Park requires flying into Jackson Hole, Wyoming or Bozeman, Montana. It is recommended to fly into Jackson Hole as you will have a much shorter drive for the start of the workshop.


Where We Will Be Staying:

For the Grand Teton portion of this workshop, we will be staying in a hotel near the town of Jackson, Wyoming. In Yellowstone, we will be staying at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge Frontier cabins, centrally located in Yellowstone National Park. Lodging is based upon double occupancy for each room. Single supplement rooms are available for an additional fee.


Workshop Start & Wrap:

Our workshop will start with our meet & greet on the 12th at 12PM at a lunch location in Jackson. We will wrap our workshop at 10AM on the 18th in Yellowstone National Park.
